FDA PROTOTYPE TRACEABILITY CHALLENGE

BACKGROUND
The FDA prototype traceability challenge purpose was to created a working prototype to target a specific food supply chain.  The theme for this traceability concept is One Fish, True Fish (Salmon – Wild vs. Farmed).  The challenge purpose was to track to chain of the food supply from the plant to packaging at your local grocery store.

TASK AT HAND
The task at hand was to design some high-fidelity wireframes for the stakeholders to review and make final recommendations. The initial design responsibility displays the following information the source, supplier, supply chain, the consumer, and the regulatory screens.  The consumer would scan a QR code using their mobile phone to see complete tracing details.  The assumptions were the products that were farm-raised and the prototypes gives examples of using chicken and fish.

THE CHALLENGE
The challenge had to be completed within 60days but I started creating the designs within the last 30 days of the deadline.  I meant with stakeholders daily to discuss the requirements and layout details of the project. The goal of the project was to encourage stakeholders, including technology providers, public health advocates, entrepreneurs, and innovators from all disciplines to develop traceability systems that are affordable that create a shared value and can encourage a widespread adoption.  Listed below is a summary of the concept from discussions to come up with the final output. The final presentation on video can be viewed here:
